SWOT Analysis Overview

As part of the methodology, SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) serves as a strategic tool to evaluate and contextualise risks throughout the process. Specifically:

Strengths (S)

Identify existing capabilities, controls, or factors that reduce risk impact or likelihood.

Weaknesses (W)

Highlight vulnerabilities, gaps, or deficiencies contributing to risk exposure.

Opportunities (O)

Explore potential advantages or positive outcomes resulting from effective risk management.

Threats (T)

Identify external or internal factors that could negatively impact the organisation or increase risk exposure.

The Threats (T) are further examined in the Risk Profiling section, where aspects such as Risk Origin,** Threat Actor**, Threat Vector, and Threat Actions are analysed in detail.

The Strengths (S), Weaknesses (W), and Opportunities (O) elements are systematically applied in the assessment of Inherent Risk, Current Risk, and Target Risk, ensuring a consistent and strategic evaluation across these stages.
